Brief History and Early Beginnings

Nobody refers to Jay Z as Shawn Carter, the name Jay Z had become some popular that many people around the world probably don’t know his actual name. Jay Z is one of the most successful rappers of his generation. Jay Z at the moment has a net worth of $1.4 billion dollars. Jay Z has over 50 million albums sold and 75 million singles sold throughout the world. Jay Z is a rapper, producer, and businessman, It is a credit that Jay Z has managed to expand his reputation from just a rapper to a businessman. Many rappers just say in their lane and there is nothing wrong with that but it takes great skill to do what Jay Z has done. Jay Z was born on December 4th,1969 in New York City. Jay Z faced a childhood that many young New Yorkers would have experienced. His father abandoned him from an early age. His mother had the responsibility of looking after Jay Z and his siblings. The rough upbringing is stated as he shot his older brother on the shoulder because the jewelry was taken away from him. Jay Z attended Eli Whitney High School and later on George Westinghouse Career and Technical Education High School and Trenton Central High School. The feud was caused due to a lyric that Nas made against Jay Z. Despite the success that Jay Z was obtaining around this time. He was found guilty of stabbing Lance Rivera in 2001 despite the incident happening in 1999 two years before. Jay Z continued his success in music but he started to develop a skill for being a businessman. Jay Z is the founder of the company Rocawear but he sold the company for $204 million dollars. As a native new yorker, he has stated that he has a huge interest in basketball and he was the Brooklyn Nets part-owner for 10 years between 2003-2013. Jay Z was interested in buying premier league club Arsenal F.C

Jay Z has been married to Beyonce since 2008 and the couple of one of the most famous celebrity couples on the planet. Beyonce is also a musician and they have worked together on songs. Jay Z has three children and they are called Blue Ivy Carter, Sir Carter and Rumi Carter. Jay Z has appeared in films and documentaries as well. Some of them include the likes of Streets is Watching, Backstage, State Property, Paper Soldiers, Fade to Black, The Great Gatsby, Made in America, Annie and Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story.
